Voddie Baucham | Buying a house – Earnest money

When you are buying a house, you sign an earnest money contract. What is your earnest money contract? You go and you see the house and you say, I wanna buy the house. And you write a contract and your contract says, I will buy the house at this price. You attach a check and the check says, here is money to let you know that I am serious.

I’m so serious that if you accept this contract and I don’t show up on closing day with the rest of the money, you get to keep both the house and my check.
