I remember when I was in college and I got a job and I was trying to make some money and I wanted to make some good money, so I went and found a sales job.
And I had this guy who was training me as a salesman. And one of the things that he did to encourage and motivate me was he showed me a copy of a check that he had kept because it was the first check that he had ever written for $1,000. He was like, you too could write a check like this someday.
Back then, before mortgages and cars and kids and everything, I was like, dude, I could write a $1,000 check one day. Not so impressed with those anymore. We get jaded.
