Tomorrow is a great day at the DeYoung house, because Monday is garbage day. We have a lot of garbage. When you add recycling, we have two of those big bins for garbage and three for recycling. So, when it’s all there and lined up, five huge bins. Five! God bless the garbage man. He comes and just takes it.
Now, if you and I pretend that we have no garbage—that this is not a house that produces any garbage, no garbage here—your house will stinketh! You just keep it, and it will overflow. No, you have to confess: we have been producing a lot of stinky garbage in this house, and you wheel it out to the curb.
But here’s the thing: if you’re honest and you’re not on vacation, everyone has garbage. And everyone is thankful for the garbage man, because he comes and takes it away. But you must wheel it to the curb.
